Gallery Collaborations

Founded in Osaka in 1989, Yoshiaki Inoue Gallery is a contemporary art gallery dedicated to presenting both Japanese and international artists. Since its establishment, the gallery has exhibited the works of Hiroto Kitagawa, Etsuko Nakatsuji, Robert Kushner, photographers Toshio Shibata and Keiichi Tahara, among many others.
Following an encounter with the family of Jiro Yoshihara, founder of the Gutai Art Association, the gallery has also organized solo exhibitions by leading Gutai artists, including Jiro Yoshihara, Michio Yoshihara, Sadamasa Motonaga, Shozo Shimamoto, and Takesada Matsutani.
Through participation in international art fairs and collaborations with galleries overseas, Yoshiaki Inoue Gallery is committed to introducing outstanding Japanese artists to audiences around the world.

Mai 36 Galerie was founded in 1987 by Victor Gisler and opened its first exhibition in 1988 with artist Les Levine at Maihofstrasse 36 in Lucerne. Since moving to Zurich in 1992, the gallery is located in a historic townhouse on three floors in the center of Zurich’s gallery district.

For over thirty-five years, Mai 36 Galerie has presented and promoted artworks by emerging and established international contemporary artists such as John Baldessari, Stephan Balkenhol, Troy Brauntuch, Pia Fries, Matt Mullican, Thomas Ruff, Lawrence Weiner and Rémy Zaugg. It also represents the estates of Luigi Ghirri, Peter Hujar, General Idea, Robert Mapplethorpe, Paul Thek and Irma Blank. Maia Ruth Lee, Poppy Jones, Magali Reus, Michel Pérez Pollo, Markus Saile and Jacopo Benassi are among the emerging artists Mai 36 has added to its gallery program in recent years.


Mai 36 Galerie continuously presents and promotes the artists' works in solo and group exhibitions, publications, in virtual spaces, and international art fairs such as Art Basel in Basel, Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Basel Hong Kong, Art Brussels, Art Genève, Arco Madrid, Frieze Seoul, Miart Milan, and Art Basel Paris.

Since its beginnings, Mai 36 Galerie has collaborated with renowned museums as well as public institutions around the world and has earned a reputation for long-standing and ongoing collaborations with its artists.
