(Kyoto, Japan, June 24, 2026) – Art Collaboration Kyoto (ACK) announces the exhibitor list for its sixth edition, taking place from November 7 to 9, 2026, with a preview day on November 6, at the Kyoto International Conference Center (ICC Kyoto). This year, ACK will welcome 63 galleries from 18 countries/regions and 24 cities, including several first-time participants such as Jeffrey Deitch, Hauser & Wirth, Modern Art, INGLEBY, ATTA, MAI 36 GALERIE, Carlos/Ishikawa, Meyer Riegger Wolff, Gallery Hyundai, Triangolo, SEASON 4 EPISODE 6, Unit 17, (sans titre), BEIGE, and Timothy Hawkinson Gallery among others.

The 2026 edition of ACK will take place under the fair’s new Leadership Committee structure, which took effect on April 1, 2026. Moving from a single fair director model to a collective leadership structure, ACK is now guided by a seven-member Leadership Committee consisting of leaders from the cultural sector with diverse expertise and backgrounds.

The ACK Leadership Committee said: “ACK has always been shaped by collaboration: between galleries, artists, collectors, institutions, partners, government entities, and Kyoto itself. We are proud to introduce our strong lineup of exhibitors this year that brings together different generations, histories, materials, and viewpoints, while also affirming Kyoto as a place where the local and the international intersect. We look forward to welcoming galleries, artists, collectors, and audiences to ACK 2026, and to continuing to build a fair that is open, responsive, and rooted in meaningful encounters.”

Launched in 2021, ACK is one of Japan’s leading contemporary art fairs and remains rooted in the spirit of collaboration. Its two main sections continue to frame the fair: Gallery Collaborations, which pairs a Japan-based gallery with an international peer in a shared booth to co-present a focused exhibition; and Kyoto Meetings, which features presentations with distinct connections to Kyoto. In its sixth edition, ACK will continue to bring together gallery presentations, special exhibitions, talks, family programs, and satellite projects within ICC Kyoto and across the city, reinforcing Kyoto as a meeting point for contemporary art each autumn.

Gallery Collaborations
Gallery Collaborations will welcome 52 galleries, including 25 Japan-based host galleries from Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, and 27 international guest galleries from Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. TARO NASU (Tokyo) will collaborate with Hauser & Wirth (Zurich) on a presentation focused on text as a central element in contemporary art, including works by Louise Bourgeois, Marcel Broodthaers, Ryan Gander, Liam Gillick, Jenny Holzer, Roni Horn, David Horvitz, and Glenn Ligon. NANZUKA (Tokyo) will join forces with first-time ACK participant Jeffrey Deitch (New York) for a group exhibition featuring artists ranging from leading figures to emerging names. Continuing the galleries’ history of collaboration since 2019, the presentation brings together artists whose work draws from popular culture, vernacular expression, myth, animism, manga, Japanese performing arts, and the visual forms that often sit outside conventional definitions of “high art.” KANEGAE (Kyoto) and ATTA (Bangkok) will present “Wearable Arts,” an exhibition focused on contemporary jewelry and expanded ideas of “wearing”, with works by Fuyuki Maehara, Syotatsu, Toshiki Oda, Arisa Kawai, Yurina Hirao, Mari Kobayashi, David Bielander, Apinya Boonprakob, Sam Tho Duong, Aya Ito, and Rudee Tancharoen. KOTARO NUKAGA (Tokyo) and ALMINE RECH (Paris) will present a dialogue on light and perception through works by internationally renowned artists, while Tokyo Gallery + BTAP (Tokyo) will collaborate with Gallery Hyundai (Seoul) on a presentation bringing together postwar Japanese and Korean experimental practices, featuring Seung-taek Lee in dialogue with Kishio Suga, and Susumu Koshimizu. Additional highlights include the booth by STANDING PINE (Tokyo) and BEIGE (Brussels), which will bring together works by Paul Czerlitzki, Joël Andrianomearisoa, and Youki Hirakawa that consider the traces of time, memory, and emotion inscribed on material and pictorial surfaces against the backdrop of Kyoto, a city where histories and cultures accumulate in layers.

Kyoto Meetings
Kyoto Meetings will feature 11 local and international gallery presentations with distinct connections to Kyoto, offering nuanced and global perspectives on the city’s histories, materials, architecture, craft traditions, natural environment, and cultural imagination. imura art gallery (Kyoto) will present “Living,” a solo exhibition by Shiro Tsujimura, one of Japan’s most widely recognized ceramic artists. Kiang Malingue (Hong Kong) will present a duo exhibition by Yang Chi-Chuan and Faye Wei Wei, pairing intricately sculpted ceramic works with paintings that reimagine Kyoto’s natural and cultural settings. Mendes Wood DM (São Paulo) will center its presentation on Tomie Ohtake, who was born in Kyoto and based in São Paulo, in dialogue with Antonio Obá, Solange Pessoa, and Daniel Steegmann Mangrané. PERROTIN (Tokyo) will present a group of fountain sculptures by Jean-Michel Othoniel, which is conceived as an immersive environment that offers a meditative experience—an intimate encounter with light, water, and material transformation.

Additional Programs
This year, ACK will introduce ACK Intersections, a curated exhibition that activates a range of indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the venue under a theme set by the guest curator each year. Leonhard Bartolomeus, a curator at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media (YCAM), will curate this year’s ACK Intersections under the theme “Out of Bounds”, which calls for us to look beyond the societal and digital boundaries imposed upon us, and explore how art can break through the unspoken rules that flatten nuances and keep us polarized. Further details on ACK Intersections, ACK Talks, Kids’ Programs, and related initiatives will be announced at a later date.

ACK will continue to present the fourth Pommery Prize Kyoto, which supports local young artists in partnership with Champagne Pommery, as well as the Bangkok Collaborate Kyoto Fellowship (BCK Fellowship), launched in 2025 in collaboration with Bangkok Kunsthalle to support experimentation, residency exchange, and artist visibility across Asia. This year’s award recipients for both initiatives will be announced during the fair week.

During the fair period, a number of special exhibitions will also be on view across Kyoto. Highlights include Andrew Cranston at Ryosokuin Temple, presented by Modern Art and INGLEBY; Yuka Kashihara at Komyoin Temple, supported by TOMIO KOYAMA GALLERY.

About Leonhard Bartolomeus
Leonhard Bartolomeus is a curator at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media (YCAM). After graduating from Jakarta Institute of the Arts, he joined the art collective ruangrupa (and later became part of Gudskul Ekosistem). Working with ruangrupa, he developed an interest in the intersection between art, education, and community engagement, which then influenced many of his curatorial projects. At YCAM, he extends this interest to include intersections with food, media, and biotechnology. His recent projects include Dance Floor as Study Room (2024, YCAM), PROJECT MRT: Natureless Solution (2025, YCAM), and Roppongi Crossing 2025 (2025, Mori Art Museum). Bartolomeus considers himself a generalist and always tries to learn new things through workshops, lectures, exhibitions, and art projects that he participates in at various places.
