Talks
(As of September 29, 2023)
ACK Talks 2023 will feature eleven talks based on this year’s curatorial theme, “Visions of a Torn World: Circulation and Coexistence.”
The expanding networks of our information society has made new encounters and connections possible. Despite this, the recent and ongoing pandemic, conflicts between nations, economic disparities and other issues have exposed the cracks and divisions in society. Perhaps a sustainable society is one that can overcome the cycle of constant connection and disconnection, to become a society of coexistence.
In order to achieve this, we might reaffirm the place of art in society, and discuss the future mission of art and ideas of ecology. Further, with ACK’s unique perspective being set in Kyoto with its strong enduring traditions, we will grapple with the city of Kyoto’s potential in taking on a role in this.
