Tamo Jugeli (b. 1994, Tbilisi) is a self-taught Georgian artist. Jugeli approaches her paintings spontaneously and intuitively, embracing the interplay of color, form, and sensation over representational realism. Her work resists easy interpretation, as she fosters a fluid and evolving dialogue between abstract and figurative elements within each composition, moving freely between large and small-scale canvases. Jugeli’s small-scale watercolors offer an apt foil for the physicality of her works on canvas. Gentle and semi-transparent, these paintings on wood panel amplify the Dionysian power of the deeply saturated Earthy hues she conjures in oil, while still retaining an echo of psychological complexity. The artist’s use of heavy frames here seems to imply both protection and self-containment, as though this body of work represents another world of internal moments that are quieter and perhaps more personal.
Shinichiro KANO (b.1982) repeatedly paints objects which have been a part of his everyday life since childhood, such as playing cards, dice, branches, and stones. Once the layout is set, Kano paints them repeatedly; altering the perspective and the scale of the actual objects, or focusing on a specific part and enlarging it. Once completed, the painting starts to have mysterious implications, and becomes connected to his other paintings. This phenomenon is similar to an RPG game, as it hints the layers of complex stories behind the daily circumstances around us which we are never conscious of, and the secret keys to open the doors to the adventures in our daily lives.

Gallery Artbeat is a pioneering contemporary art gallery based in Tbilisi, Georgia representing mid-career and emerging Georgian artists.
Between 2014-2017 the gallery started its journey as a project space, a moving gallery using a shipping container for site-specific exhibitions to introduce contemporary art in peripheral locations where museums and galleries don't function. In October 2017 the gallery found it's permanent home in the heart of Tbilisi.
The gallery has a significant presence on the international art scene, collaborating with major institutions and museums and taking part in art fairs such as Art Basel in Basel, Frieze London, Paris International, Arco Madrid, NADA Miami, Art Dubai, Art Cologne.
Our aim is to support artists throughout their artistic journeys, foster cultural activities both locally and abroad, collaborate with international galleries and organizations and mark Georgia on an international art map.
