Kyoto Tsutaya Books ART SESSION
Taking the word “session” as its concept, an event titled “ART SESSION” will bring together works by over 40 artists in one place.

Sakazaki Chiharu Print Exhibition: Hannari Penguin
This is the second print exhibition at Kyoto Takashimaya by Sakazaki Chiharu, the popular illustrator and creator of JR East’s IC card character, Suica Penguin.
We welcome you to enjoy a collection of prints that includes new works created specially for this event, where you will encounter numerous adorable and humor-filled penguins in Hannari Penguin.

Yasunaga Motonori Exhibition
Yasunaga Motonori was born in 1949 in Fukuoka Prefecture and graduated from the Painting Department of Kyoto City University of Arts. Since then, focusing primarily on solo exhibitions, he has sincerely engaged with familiar motifs in pursuit of a unique realism through a creative approach that can be likened to a conversation with his subjects. This exhibition showcases over 20 works, including meticulous depictions of fresh fruits and delicate flowers blooming in gardens, all rendered with sharp insight.

Imai Sadamasa Ceramic Exhibition: Real Fantasy Part Two
Imai Sadamasa was born in Kyoto City in 1989 and graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. Grandson of Imai Masayuki, a recipient of the Order of Culture, Imai has garnered attention for his meticulous technique from an early age. This year, he was awarded the 19th Paramita Ceramics Grand Prize, a prestigious stepping stone for young artists that has cemented his reputation within Japan. In this exhibition, a collection of new works featuring his signature subjects of fish and crustaceans will be displayed together in one venue.

Satsuma Ware — 15th Generation Chin Jukan Exhibition
Made using a white ceramic rarely found worldwide, Satsuma ware is characterized by its ivory-like softness and meticulously applied glaze. The 15th generation Chin Jukan continues to challenge himself with intricately sculpted forms that defy fear of deformation or cracking during firing.

Miyata Sayaka Embroidery Exhibition: SENSHAKE BANRAI
Using an original technique that deliberately incorporates errors into machine embroidery, this exhibition showcases works of embroidery that fuse both digital and analog sensibilities.
