Gallery Collaborations

NANZUKA is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2005 in Shibuya, Tokyo, as an experimental art gallery dedicated to redefining the creativities in design, illustration, street culture, fashion, music and etc. as academic subjects, while rediscovering the artists who have been evaluated outside of the fine art scene after the World War II, such as Keiichi Tanaami, Hajime Sorayama, Harumi Yamaguchi. Besides, collaborating with many international galleries to support emerging Japanese artists in the international art scene, including Tetsuya Nakamura, Hiroki Tsukuda, Ryuichi Ohira, Masato Mori and Haroshi. Simultaneously, the gallery works with international artists who represent the global contemporary art scene.

Jeffrey Deitch began his art career with a small gallery in Lenox, Massachusetts, in 1972. After working as Assistant Director at the John Weber Gallery from 1974-76 and earning an MBA at the Harvard Business School, he developed and co-managed Citibank’s Art Advisory Service from 1979-88. Deitch established his own art advisory and private dealing business in 1988. From 1993-2000, he represented Jeff Koons and co-produced the artist’s Celebration series. In 1996, he opened Deitch Projects, which presented more than 250 exhibitions and projects. He closed the gallery in 2010 to become Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. In 2014, Deitch reopened his New York gallery. Deitch opened his gallery in Los Angeles, designed by Frank Gehry, in September 2018. In addition to his commercial career, Deitch has curated influential exhibitions including Artificial Nature (1990), Post Human (1992), Form Follows Fiction (1997), and Overpop (2018) at the Yuz Museum in Shanghai. From March to June 2023, City as Studio (2023) was presented at K11 Art Foundation in Hong Kong, and Confluence (2023), which Deitch co-curated, was the inaugural show at the Ambani Art Center in Mumbai.
