Gallery Collaborations

Since its establishment in 2009, STANDING PINE has centred its activities on supporting emerging Japanese artists, while continuously developing a programme that transcends generations and regions through the re-evaluation of post-war Japanese art, the presentation of contemporary African art, and the introduction of internationally active artists. Working across a wide and diverse range of media—including sound, moving image, photography, textiles and installation—the gallery presents works that embody qualities often associated with Japanese aesthetics and refined craftsmanship, while also being grounded in strong concepts and critical perspectives on contemporary society.

Represented artists include, for example, Noritoshi Hirakawa, who re-examines perception and social structures; Kenji Sugiyama, who explores the relationship between seeing and memory; and Youki Hirakawa, who unravels the histories and structures of objects and phenomena. The programme also includes the post-war Japanese artist Hideko Fukushima, a member of the avant-garde group Jikken Kōbō; African artists such as Abdoulaye Konaté, Joël Andrianomearisoa and Tegene Kunbi; and Swiss kinetic artist Pe Lang.

BEIGE is a contemporary art gallery dedicated to presenting conceptually driven works within a carefully curated exhibition program. While maintaining a strong connection to conceptual practices, the gallery embraces a diverse range of artistic approaches and mediums.

Located in Brussels, BEIGE showcases international artists while remaining deeply engaged with the local art community. It encourages dialogue, experimentation, and cross-generational exchange, bringing together emerging and established voices from both local and global contexts. Through its exhibitions, talks, and collaborations, BEIGE creates a space for meaningful engagement between artists, curators and audiences.
