Takuro Someya Contemporary Art
(Tokyo)
Established in 2006, Takuro Someya Contemporary Art (TSCA) showcases and supports emerging and established Japanese and international artists working across various media. Since 2018, the gallery has been located in the TERRADA Art Complex in Shinagawa, Tokyo. Founded by Takuro Someya following his time at SCAI THE BATHHOUSE, TSCA has partnerships with artists including Kenjiro Okazaki, Enrico Isamu Oyama, Rafaël Rozendaal, Mai Yamashita + Naoto Kobayashi, Mayumi Hosokura, and Ryoichi Kurokawa. The gallery places great value on close communication with artists and takes an active role in production support, exhibition planning, and artwork handling.
Beginning with the exhibition of works by Yoshishige Saito, TSCA has in recent years expanded its focus from contemporary art to a program that illuminates and builds on connections between the art of the 20th century and our present moment. TSCA is also committed to collaborative projects with international galleries that showcase the work of shared artists and highlight developments in artistic fields across boundaries.
